In recent years, Ghana has seen a rise in trafficked or abandoned children, many of whom end up begging on the streets of Accra. Through the Displaced African Children Project, Akwadum Christian Village has extended its care to children caught in these heart-breaking situations.
With the help of the Ghanaian government and local organisations, the project provides rescued children with a safe place to live, access to healthcare, education, and — most importantly — a loving community. Every child deserves a future. This project is our way of making sure they get one
